The Instructors at Surf School Lanzarote
Through over 30 years of experience we really know that qualifications and constant training is so very important, to us and to you. Our qualified staff train and re train, not only to ensure the quality and development of our coaching but also to ensure your safety as well.
We are an International Surfing Association Registered ( I.S.A.) school. The I.S.A. is the World governing body for Surfing and we also provide I.S.A. Instructor training courses in Sri Lanka.
New team member Vicky Sadowska has been coaching surfing and snowboarding over the last 6 years. An all round sportswomen she’s represented her country Poland in Judo and holds not only a personal trainers licence but also a Bachelor Degree in Physical Education.
Vicky brings tons of enthusiasm and insight to her coaching and has a solid understanding of the techniques we use at Surf School Lanzarote. We will be running a video short on her soon.
New Team member Bert Geysen has been able to find the job that he loves at surf school Lanzarote. After working at high school as a physical education teacher he realised his love for surfing and the ocean was too strong. The only logical decision was to change the classroom for the beach and start teaching on the beach as a surf coach.
After surf coaching in Australia, Indonesia, France and Spain he joined our Team in Lanzarote. With a passion for surfing & coaching he joins the vision of our surf school and tries to get the best out of every surfer. His background in sports coaching and his enthusiasm for coaching complements our team perfectly.
Jamie Jones, one of our most experienced coaches and accomplished big wave surfer, gives his thoughts on coaching and our coaching system.
Emily Williams, Welsh Champion, British Surfing Championship finalist and UK Pro Tour winner gives her feedback about the coaching at Surf School Lanzarote.
We run ISA instructor training courses in Sri Lanka our sister school and have trained many ISA coaches over many years.
Very importantly we are also qualified Beach Life Guards. All instructors hold the Surf Life Saving Association, Royal Life Saving Society or NAR’s Awards. These awards are renewed every 2 years. This guarantees a level of safety of the highest standard.
Do check if the schools you may use in the future carry these awards and check if they are current and in date.
If you have an interest in attaining any of these awards and qualifications please contact us.
